Helping Minds is the pre-eminent mental health services and carer support organisation, established nearly 50 years ago as a not for profit charity in Perth, Western Australia.

We provides direct assistance and support for people experiencing mental health issues and their families and carers, and carers more generally, to live their best possible lives. We are celebrating 50 years of service with the objective to support children, adults and families that are affected by mental illness, primarily in carer supports, early intervention, health promotion, advocacy, education and individualised supports. Our strategic objectives are to provide services that are:

We provide a wide range of mental health services including:

Mental Health Education

  • Mental health education programs for schools, workplaces and the community
  • Recovery College that provides students with the knowledge and tools to find the most meaning, confidence and enjoyment in day-to-day life

Mental Health Services

  • Individualised support services for people with a psychosocial disability
  • Early intervention programs for young people aged between 7 and 17 who have emotional or social difficulties or are at risk of developing a mental health challenge*

*Available to young people living in City of Swan, Geraldton, Carnarvon, Broome

Mental Health Carer Support

  • Carer Advocacy – Helping family members to understand their rights as carers
  • Counselling

  • School Holiday and after school programs for young carers

Carer Gateway

HelpingMinds delivers Carer Gateway services in the South West and Mid West regions of Western Australia, assisting carers with registration and planning support.
