Mental Health Promotion Officer

  • Remuneration: $42.82 to $45.15 per hour + 13% superannuation + salary packaging
  • Location: Perth Office, with outreach throughout the Perth Metro area
  • Employment Type: Permanent full-time (38 hour week) – Monday to Friday 8:30am – 4:36pm, however may be required to work outside of these hours to be accessible for community programs.

The Position:

Are you passionate about empowering communities with the knowledge and tools to support mental wellbeing?

Helping Minds is seeking a passionate Mental Health Promotion Officer to deliver engaging education and community initiatives that promote mental wellbeing. You’ll champion positive mental health messaging across schools, tertiary institutions, and community settings, breaking stigma, building understanding, and connecting people with support.

Working with internal teams and external partners, you’ll develop and deliver evidence-based programs and resources that inspire learning, strengthen partnerships, and make a real difference across Western Australia.

Responsibilities of the role include:

  • Develop and provide education on mental illnesses, promoting accurate, evidence-based information to schools, tertiary institutions and the community
  • Maintain, develop and actively seek partnerships with schools, tertiary institutions and the community to deliver programs, expos etc.
  • Represent Helping Minds at seminars, expos, presentations and workshops as required
  • Providing information to students and community members regarding where they can seek assistance, including referring into Helping Minds services as well as other Mental Health or Allied Health organisations

About You:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Proof of Australian Working Rights
  •  Current Drivers License with a reliable vehicle
  • A relevant tertiary degree in Health Promotion, Public Health, Health Science or related discipline

Candidates will also either have or be willing to obtain the following:

  • National Clear Police Clearance (within 6 months)
  • Working with Children Card
  • First Aid Certificate
